For the fourth consecutive year, Sanofi and the Sanofi Espoir Foundation are joining forces with Group subsidiaries to launch the Season of Solidarity, an internal event dedicated to solidarity that is being organized worldwide from October and December.
Ever since the first edition in 2012, the number of participating countries in the Season of Solidarity has increased each year. 75 sites across twenty countries and over 20,000 employees were involved in 2014.
The campaign aims to offer to all employees an opportunity to participate in community outreach activities while networking with each other and their partners around the world.
As part of this year’s campaign, regions and sites will focus on a common theme by organizing activities for sick, disabled or disadvantaged children.
Examples of action being taken different countries:
- In Brazil, the operation "Be a Santa Claus" donated toys and books to hundreds of children in the Darcy Vargas Hospital.
- In Russia, a blood drive was held at the Dmitry Rogachev center for children with cancer, in Moscow. Toys were also given to nearly 300 children from an orphanage in the city.
- In South Africa, blankets, food, clothing and toys were distributed to children in the Diepsloot slum on the outskirts of Johannesburg.
- In Japan, 482 gifts and Christmas cards were offered to hospitalized children who cannot spend Christmas at home.
